Victor Rusu
I was born in Romania but raised in Toronto where I currently reside. I have a great passion for philosophy, people, motorcycles, vinyl records and, of course, visual storytelling! I had a career in Food Sensory R&D prior to returning to school for photography and have since worked on a little of everything from film sets to live event production. I currently specialize in fashion and portraiture and one day look forward to running my own artist collaborative!
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
My work is primarily people-based. I'm intrigued by the genuineness of human connection in a day and age where we live behind our digital screens. Photography has allowed me to take time with my sitters and learn about who they genuinely are. As our connection grows in the few hours we spend together, the photos begin to develop in depth and genuine emotions. I couple that with my signature cinematic style to create portraits that go beyond the life of the individual sitter and become relatable to humanity as a whole.
