Born and aged in Vancouver, BC, Wade Comer is a photographic artist and a maker of things. His core belief is that there is beauty everywhere, and that photography has the power to make the ordinary extraordinary.
Through photography and visual arts, Wade investigates two main concepts: how we see; and, what we leave behind.
How We See
How do the mechanics of seeing affect our perception, and what are the connections between seeing to our emotions and memory? The camera provides opportunities to see differently, and can present the familiar in a novel way that questions our own perceptions.
What We Leave Behind
Much can be said about us by what we leave behind - in alleys, on walls, and in the remains of our built environment. Wade’s work over the past thirty years has investigated this detritus, documenting the way humanity has left its mark on the world around us.
