William Sotomayor

B Sotomayor (Bill) was born in 1953 in Camp Atterbury Indiana. He is an emerging artist with a background in Photography, Drawing, Painting and Sculpture. His style focus is on abstraction combined with mechanical drawing. After discovering the lack of depth in two-dimensional art his focus turned to adapting mechanical drawing into his work to create the illusion of three-dimensionality. The tools he uses incorporates various forms of geometric shapes which he studied as an Industrial Design student. Starting out at the Art Institute of Colorado from 2005—2007 his studies led him to transition from Industrial Design to Photography. In 2007 he continued his studies at the San Francisco Art Institute mainly in Industrial Design concepts. He then transferred to the University of Colorado in Boulder between 2007—2010 to focus on a Fine Arts Degree.
He has had several solo shows at local galleries in Denver, Colorado where he lives. Currently he has some of his work at the Laguna Art Gallery in Mission Viejo California. Bill has also been published with Artsy Shark and SeeMe in Paris and Miami.
