Yodit Tewoderos
My name is Yodit Tewoderos, I am a 22 year-old Ethiopian-Canadian non-binary artist based in Montreal, Quebec. As a passionate artist my entire life, I've fallen in love with many mediums such as dance, fashion, film. In the most recent years since the pandemic I've been able to rekindle my love for abstract expressionism and was even granted my first publication in The National Library of Spain, for my piece "Things Ain't What They Used To Be".
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I am an intuitive abstract and mixed media artist who uses my youthful passion for creation to reflect my voice as a black member of the LGBTQIA community and my experiences. The purpose of my artwork is to use innovative textures and contrast to convey my emotionally charged spontaneity and to illuminate how I express my darkest insecurities and brightest gifts with the world.
