Kylie Hutton Herman is a contemporary painter born in 1992 in Nassau, The Bahamas to a Bahamian mother and Canadian father. Her work is rooted in landscape, memory and connection.
She obtained her BA in Visual Art from Western University in 2014. Her work has been shown in exhibitions across Canada and The Bahamas and is featured in private collections, commercial galleries, group exhibitions and public spaces.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
The artist's current body of work focuses on capturing light and the organic movement of natural form on canvas. Her subject matter often references local surroundings and familiar landscapes; which is characterised by emotive colour palettes and layered mark making, while moving in the realm of abstraction.
