AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN - HOMEWARD BOUND

One of the largest native birds to North America, the white pelican can be found during mating season in lakes, rivers and estuaries that abound in fish. Despite their somewhat prehistoric look and large body, they are excellent fliers with flocks often soaring to great heights wheeling and circling in unison.
