Between Decision and Descent inhabits the suspended moment after choice but before momentum takes over. The surface carries visible history, black underpainting, veiled flesh tones, and interrupted gestures, allowing earlier states to remain present rather than erased.

Layered marks hover in tension, neither fully released nor fully restrained. Areas of abrasion and exposure reveal a dialogue between impulse and regulation.

As part of the HOLD / HELD series, this work examines containment as an active process: the practice of standing at the edge of change, feeling the pull, and choosing to remain conscious within it.
