Adeshope is a visual artist who specializes in using pen scribbles and acrylic to create thought-provoking and emotive art pieces. With a keen eye for detail and an innate ability to capture the essence of his subjects, Adeshope’s works are both visually stunning and emotionally stimulating.
Adeshope expresses his views and thoughts about human connection and self-awareness, through his art, by sharing stories and experiences from his personal life. He seeks to foster conversations around empathy, mental health, existentialism and self-awareness.
In particular, he is fascinated by existentialism, and his art often reflects this interest. Through his work, he explores the meaning of life, the nature of existence, and the search for identity and purpose. His paintings and drawings are characterized by a deep sense of introspection and contemplation, inviting the viewer to engage with the profound questions that lie at the heart of human experience.
Adeshope’s work has been exhibited in galleries and shows including: ‘Forme Feminee’, Thought Pyramid Art gallery, Lagos (2019), ‘There has to be something’, Terra Kulture, Lagos (2021), ‘The Mis-predilections of Aboya’, A whitespace Creative Agency, Lagos, Nigeria (2022), ‘Narrativas’, Echo’s open studio, Sao Polo, Brazil (2023), Toronto Outdoor Art Fair (2024).
His work challenges us to look beyond the surface of our lives and embrace the rich, multifaceted nature of our inner selves.
My artistic practice explores the intricate tapestry of experiences that define our individual existence. Currently captivated by existentialism, my work grapples with fundamental questions of life's meaning, the nature of reality, and the search for identity and purpose. Through introspective paintings and drawings, I invite viewers to contemplate the profound depths of human experience.
