Chupadera was inspired by the high-desert landscapes of New Mexico. I found the view fascinating and enjoyed overlooking the vast landscape from the top of the hill. I chose an elongated canvas to capture as much of this beautiful scenery as possible. The small blue pond by the mountain, with cows grazing nearby, became a charming detail that brings the landscape to life. To me, this painting reflects the quiet beauty and openness that made this place so memorable.
