The title for the work references a concept in Dune, (one of my favorite series of all time) known as other memory and collective memory. The secret society known as the Bene Gesserit have the ability to access memories from their ancestors and to share information with each other upon death. The painting is also a reimagination of my piece "Oro".

This is one of my favorite pieces this year as it was the first time I used purple as a center color and faded it into red-violet then to red and so on. As apart of my chakra series I wanted to use purple which is considered the crown chakra as the center to indicate moving from our highest self to other aspects of the chakra system. The title references something in quantum physics known as qualia, which represents all phenomena in nature or the cosmos which comes into existence from the quantum field.

The painting is a geometric pattern that allows the wood to show through in between the pattern. The pattern itself represents all dimensions of reality and phenomena contained within it, while the space in between represents the quantum field or space. I titled the painting "Oro", which means gold in Spanish because I felt like I had struck gold with this particular piece which is the progenitor of my current body of work. The conceptualization of the work and the work itself is the first demonstration of my philosophic lens as an abstract artist. Extrapolating from the Minimalist art movement and the Opt art movement, my work emphasizes that consciousness constructs reality. Therefore my work is not just painting on a wood panel (an ideology promoted by Frank Stella in the Minimalist movement), but an invitation to analyze the inner workings of the mind which co-creates our universe.

This painting marks the beginning of my Chakra series which references the metaphysical bodies that govern our mind-body. Each color represents a chakra starting with red which is considered the root all the way up to the crown chakra. The transition from one color to the next is in relation to the flow of energy and how each color or metaphysical trait of the chakra is in balance with the one closest to it. Some days the viewer might focus on one color over another depending on the mood or need at the time.

The inspiration behind this work was to create a subtle piece that really felt minimalistic, in the sense of simplicity. The title of the piece further emphasizes that because cotton candy more or less just dissolves in your mouth. The abstract is a repeating patter of colors where one of the colors is a metallic teal that glitters up close. A piece that is hard to photograph because of how subtle it is but one that I find to be pleasing in its softness.

The title of this piece is inspired by one of my favorite books on spirituality of all time, "The Seat of the Soul", by Gary Zukav.

One of my earlier works in my abstracts that I simply wanted to use red as a color because it represents the root chakra which symbolizes being grounded and secure. The title reflects my love of snakes and seeing rattlesnakes or gopher snakes when I go hiking. I think on a deeper level as well, it's also symbolic of being yourself and realizing the role you play in a community is valid. Some people don't like snakes and think they are creepy but if it weren't for snakes, other populations of rodents would grow out of control and disturb the balance of an ecosystem.

This painting is a continuation of my piece "Oro". I wanted to add a more dynamic quality to the work by including more color which was a step away from my monochromatic tendencies. This painting's title comes from my love of nature and the verdant gradations of green that can be experienced in early spring. The metaphysical concept of the work is in using color to represent the subtle changes in experience that goes on at a subconscious level. The eye can be drawn to certain areas of the painting or certain shades of color depending on the mood of the viewer.

The title for this painting is inspired by the colloquial name for the Yucca plant which has a flower that grows from its center.
