Kinga Brassay

Acrylic on canvas.

63x47.50x1.50"

This painting is part of the collection Echoing of a Dream, where the works explore restless, vivid dream states, where thought loses gravity, logic softens, and the mind drifts through a different world. Dreams appear in fragments rather than complete narratives, shifting and breaking apart as they are remembered. This is why several works take the form of diptychs, reflecting this fractured nature. A gold line marks the threshold between dreaming and waking. The gold is not decorative. It functions as a moment of passage, a line crossed between states of being. Above it, the paintings hold intensity, movement, tension, and drift. Below it, waking returns. Waking up is grounding, heavy, immediate. The body returns and the mind regains weight. Black, as a unified solid field, collapses the dream’s fragmentation into presence and gravity. It quiets the image.
