Cherie is a third career emerging contemporary artist from Toronto. Her body of work is a journey of self-exploration and discovery, interweaving the unique and disparate experiences of her past and present.
The abstract pieces Cherie creates are guided by her intuitive sense of composition and colour. Her figurative pieces often have a surrealist quality and offer an unexpected, quirky or exaggerated element that reflects her personality.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I enjoy painting organically with bold brushstrokes and intuitive mark-making. My work encourages a reciprocal dialogue between self-expression and the thoughts and feelings it evokes from the viewer.
The drive for continuous growth propels me. Each creation is a cobblestone in my journey to nurture my artistic voice. I hope my art will resonate and inspire those to come along with me, while discovering something new about themselves in the process.
