Description of "Fall Trees"
"Fall Trees" captures the essence of autumn through a vibrant interplay of colors and textures. Using a palette knife, I’ve created an expressive representation of the stunning landscapes found in Alberta's wetlands. This piece showcases the beauty of leafless trees, their stumps revealing intricate shapes and rich hues that emerge during the fall season. The swirling colors evoke a sense of movement and emotion, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the transformative power of nature as it transitions into winter.
Artist Statement
In my work, I strive to transcend the boundaries of realism, focusing instead on emotional expression through color and form. "Fall Trees" is a reflection of my fascination with the beauty found in Alberta’s wetlands, particularly the stunning trees that stand resilient even as they shed their leaves. The vibrant colors of autumn serve as a backdrop for my exploration of shapes and textures, where the stumps of the trees become a canvas of emotion.
By employing a palette knife, I am able to create dynamic layers that convey depth and movement, allowing the viewer to experience the scene not just visually, but emotionally. This painting embodies my belief that art should evoke feelings and provoke thought, inviting a personal connection with the natural world. Through "Fall Trees," I aim to celebrate the beauty in change and the emotions that accompany the cycles of nature. Enjoy! Thanks.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I am learning from nature what life doesn't speak about.
My work is the unconscious expression of what has marked me or someone I know. What inspires me is Peace and Love but I often use abstract and surreal nature as my main symbolic metaphor for the mood or emotions I want to express.
