These six individual 8.5 x 8.5 mixed-media works were created during my residency at Cortijo el Moro in Andalucía, each built on handmade paper using acrylic paint and chine collé. A green-gold acrylic ground anchors the surfaces, where mark-making, etched lines, and scratched textures disrupt and reveal layers of weathered pigment. Forms emerge subtly—part drawing, part memory—shaped by an intuitive process. Together, the pieces echo the place's stillness: sun-soaked cobblestones, abandoned buildings, and the quiet sense of time resting lightly over the landscape.
