My oil on linen painting "Golden Hour - Venice" was inspired by the quality of light during the "golden hour" – the period shortly after sunrise or before sunset when the light is softer, warmer, and more diffuse.
My paintings of California at dusk are atmospheric, layered explorations of light, time, and the emotional resonance of a familiar yet ever-changing landscape.
This painting is a companion piece to "Golden Hour - Venezia." These two artworks act as pillars for my Venice/Venezia series of artworks inspired by the two water lapped cities.
