Hybridization is about what happens when cultures blend and transform through migration; the ways identities merge and shift when my family moved from the Caribbean to Britain and Canada. The stick figures and tribal markings aren't just mapping destinations; they're showing how cultures mix, how we become something new while still carrying what we came from. It's part of my 2024 series, Seekers and Imprints, where I'm investigating this cultural blending across generations. I made this with acrylic paint, pencil, and acrylic marker, asking: what do we become when cultures merge? What parts of us blend, transform, and persist? How do we honour both who we were and who we're becoming?
