I Am Not Who You See

Mixed media on canvas.

16x20"

I Am Not Who You See is a contemporary mixed-media piece that incorporates mirrored paper, real tile fragments, and acrylic to explore the complexities of self-perception, identity, and introspection. Through fragmented reflections and contrasting textures, the work considers how we perceive ourselves against the versions of us reflected by the world around us. The mirrored surfaces invite viewers to become part of the composition, while the fractured tiles symbolize the imperfect and evolving nature of identity. Ultimately, the piece reflects on the tension between our inner realities and outward appearances, questioning whether we ever truly see ourselves in our entirety.
