This piece began with the feeling of searching—trying to make sense of what we notice, what we ignore, and how meaning takes shape through fragments. I worked with stained glass collage and paint on mirror, framed by an aluminum mat, to create a layered surface that reflects both the viewer and the work itself.
The composition draws from the human form—glimpses of eyes, pieces that don’t fully resolve but still feel familiar. I wanted the mirror to play an active role, pulling the viewer into the piece and blurring the line between observer and subject.
Using stained glass gave me a way to explore perception—how we catch pieces of something and assign it meaning. Each fragment of glass is intentional but incomplete, like clues in a puzzle that don’t quite fit together but still tell a story.
