This painting is part of a 'Dance-Pop' series that expresses the kind of pure escape that goes with the infectious beat of music centred on love, encouragement, and dancing the night away. The bright colours are a nod to the positive, inclusive atmosphere of the disco phenomenon that started in the 70s at clubs in New York City which allowed people from all walks of life, especially those in marginalized communities, to safely come together and dance. Titles are inspired by both new and nostalgic dance pop songs.
