The unbearable latitudes of life. I painted this before the COVID outbreak was officially declared, in the middle of winter. It signifies an absence of warmth, a cooling down. A receding into myself. A conscious state of self. Wonder, marvel, animosity. Like water turning into ice– transparent, crackling surface glass.
Frozen in time, beauty in recession. Tree branches from my photo archives. What goes around, comes around, and goes around again. Snap, crackle.
