The image Layered Light was taken while kayaking on Stoney Lake (Ontario )in the very early morning. Layered Light captures the peculiarly perfect palette of sunrise. The cabin shrouded in mist suggests a narrative of secrecy, silence and seclusion. In this landscape photograph, image layering draws attention to the shifting conversations between and among water, sky and trees. Double exposure and photo manipulation helps to capture movement, often elusive in still photography. Linda Briskin is fascinated by the fluidity between the natural and the constructed, and the authentic and the fabricated.
