I recently revisited a video that delves into the harsh reality that women often sacrifice years of their lives for the sake of love. The video explores how women, particularly wives and mothers, tend to live shorter lives compared to their male counterparts. The core of this phenomenon lies in the way women devote themselves to their families, pouring their energy into supporting the men and children in their lives. In doing so, they often place their own careers and personal aspirations on the back burner to allow their partners to thrive professionally. This disparity is an age-old story, one that seems to persist through time.

What stands out to me is the incredible generosity of women and their apparent willingness to make these sacrifices. It’s almost as if they find pride in the work they do, with that work being the nurturing and care of the people around them. While the reality may be sobering, there is something undeniably admirable in the dedication women show. They are the unseen force, the driving energy, that keeps the "machines" — the lives of those they love — running smoothly.

To connect this to my work and to the title I chose for it, I find myself exploring the theme of love and giving, particularly the ways in which devotion shapes our lives. Whatever we dedicate our time to, whatever we hold dear—whether it’s a practice, an activity, or the people who surround us—ultimately, it evolves and thrives. The principle of "input equals output" is central to this idea. In my art, I strive to capture the delicate balance of selflessness and devotion, acknowledging the quiet beauty in the effort we invest into the things and people we care for. But success, I believe, is not always measured in monetary terms. It often appears in subtler, more profound ways. Women, in this context, are like the puppeteers, the directors, the producers, and the backstage crew, quietly orchestrating the lives of their families and loved ones. They are the unseen hands that guide the story, yet the credit, the recognition, the praise, and the glory are often directed elsewhere—toward the "actors" and "final products." These are the lives and successes that are celebrated, even though so much of the labor and love that bring them to fruition remains out of the spotlight.

“Light as a Feather” encapsulates the way women often carry the burdens of those around them. By absorbing the weight of their families' needs—be it emotional, physical, or financial—they free others to soar without the heaviness of responsibility. They make others' lives easier and lighter, yet remain largely unseen in their efforts. In this way, they are the unsung architects of the ease others experience, quietly taking on the load so that others can glide through life unburdened.
