I began this painting on September 13; it took me a week to finish it. I had not planned on painting the image at all–I just looked in the mirror in my studio and thought, “Hey, why not?” And that is how it occurred. I set up a second easel and canvas to make the painting for seven days , with a view to plastic bags and all.
