My artistic journey began in adolescence, sparked by Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. The film left me captivated—its stark symbolism and enigmatic storytelling compelled me to consider how its essence could be translated into visual art.

Initially, I sought to mirror the film’s themes directly, but over time, my approach evolved. The Monolith—a symbol once rooted in Kubrick’s narrative—gradually drifted from its cinematic origins. It began to reflect fragments of my own reality: personal surroundings, rare experiences, and moments that felt both intimate and profound.

As I continued to explore this imagery, the Monolith took on new meaning. It became a visual conduit through which I could express complexities that weren’t solely drawn from science fiction, but instead emerged from my lived encounters. In my paintings, it now stands not as a reference to the cosmos, but as a presence tethered to my own context—a quiet witness to the enigmas within and around me.
