This painting captures the quiet magic of looking upward through trees at night. The pale moon appears between the trunks, while branches and leaves weave across the luminous blue sky. The birches feel strong and grounded, yet the canopy opens toward a wider, sparkling world. I wanted to express the calm and wonder I feel when nature changes under moonlight.

I built the sky with layered blues and turquoise, allowing the colours to create depth and movement. I placed the moon behind the trees, then shaped the birch trunks with bright whites, warm browns, and contrasting shadows. Dark branching forms lead the eye through the composition, while touches of green bring life to the canopy. Finally, I added fine speckles across the sky to suggest starlight and give the night its shimmering atmosphere.
