Red Sky began with my attraction to the power and warmth of a sky filled with colour. I wanted the red to feel alive rather than flat, suggesting a moment when the light is changing and the world seems to pause. The intensity of the sky carries both energy and calm, inviting each viewer to imagine what the scene means to them.

I worked intuitively, without making a sketch first. I let the acrylic colours guide me, building the sky in layers and adjusting the shapes and tones until they felt balanced. I used lighter touches to bring brightness into the red and surrounding colours to give the sky contrast and depth. As I worked, I followed the movement of the paint rather than trying to control every mark. I continued until the colours came together in a way that felt complete. The finished painting holds a vivid, fleeting moment of light.
