A quiet divide stretches across the surface—light above, shadow below. Between them lives the weight of what is remembered, what is regretted, and what remains unresolved.
Scratched marks drift through the darkness like fragments of untold confessions, layered and buried beneath time. The pale expanse above offers no absolution, only space—a place where reflection can settle and truth can emerge.

Penance is not about punishment. It is about carrying the invisible burden of becoming. It speaks to the moments when we sit with our mistakes, not to relive them, but to understand them. In that stillness, guilt softens into humility, and remorse becomes a path toward grace.

The work invites contemplation of what we choose to carry, and what we are finally ready to release.
