Somewhere explores the space between recognition and uncertainty. The central organic
form may suggest an eye, an opening, a cell, or even a landscape, but it never settles
into one definite identity. The surrounding layers of earth, blue-green tones, and tactile textures create a sense of a place that feels both familiar and unknown.
The work is interested in how perception changes what we believe we are seeing. One
viewer might find something biological in the form, while another might see a portal, a
memory, or a fragment of another world. None of these interpretations needs to be correct. The painting exists somewhere between them.
For me, Somewhere is about that moment when you recognize something without being
able to fully explain it. A place, feeling, memory, or image that seems strangely familiar, even though you cannot quite say where it comes from.
