Spring does not arrive all at once.

At first, there are small signs. A shift in the light. A hint of green. Something pushing beneath the surface, gathering energy.

And then suddenly, everything seems to happen at once.

Springtime Surge carries that feeling of restless emergence. Pinks, blues and pale turquoise create moments of lightness and possibility, while deep blacks and smoky greys anchor the painting with the memory of what came before. Green lines move across the surface with an energy that feels almost unstoppable—like new growth finding its way through whatever stands in its path.

The painting is not a peaceful spring landscape.
It is spring in the middle of becoming.

Marks collide. Colours interrupt one another. Some passages feel tentative and delicate; others arrive with force. There is movement in every direction, as though the whole surface has been caught in a sudden burst of energy.

Perhaps that is what spring really feels like.
Not orderly. Not graceful.
But urgent.

After a long period of stillness, there is a desire to move again. To stretch beyond old boundaries. To take up space. To see what might happen next.

Springtime Surge is about that moment when holding back is no longer possible.

Something has changed.
Something is growing.
And there is no stopping it now.
