I took this photo during a week-long trip in the Dolomite mountains of Italy in 2015. One morning during a hut-to-hut hike, I woke before sunrise to see if I could capture morning alpenglow on the granite peaks. I spent some time shooting the peaks but wasn’t inspired. When I decided to head back to the hut, I turned around to find the rising sun directly behind a tree, shooting out God beams in all directions.
