This piece came from a process of responding spontaneously to shapes and impulses as they emerged. It began without a clear narrative but evolved into a reflection on memory and place. After finishing, feelings and stories surfaced—remembrances of childhood explorations in Tennessee before my family moved to St. Louis.

The work captures that sense of movement and discovery, like collecting fragments along a wandering path. There is tension between the precise shapes and the painterly textures beneath them, suggesting both the clarity and complexity of revisiting the past.

The House Where I Used To Live holds space for reflection on how memory assembles itself through fragments, colors, and forms. It is both an abstract map and an emotional landscape, inviting viewers to consider their own histories in relation to shifting and layered experience.
