The tide is never still.

It advances, retreats, reshapes the shoreline and then begins again. Nothing remains exactly where it was.

Tidal Negotiations grew out of that constant exchange.

Teal and deep blue-green move across the surface like shifting water, while coral pinks break through with sudden flashes of warmth. Dark forms push forward, only to be interrupted by lighter passages. Lines cross, hesitate and change direction.

Nothing completely gives way.
Nothing completely wins.

Instead, the painting becomes a negotiation between opposing forces—movement and resistance, pressure and release, holding on and letting go.

Like the shoreline meeting the sea, each element responds to the other. The dark passages create weight. The pale areas open space. Colour surges forward, then retreats beneath another layer.

The surface records these exchanges.

Some decisions remain visible. Others have been covered, scraped back or transformed. What is left is not a single moment, but the evidence of many moments happening together.

Tidal Negotiations is about finding a way through change without expecting everything to settle.

Sometimes balance isn't a place we arrive at.

Sometimes it is the ongoing conversation between all the things pulling us in different directions.
