Chris Farley set the comedy bar for a generation. Blending physical comedy with smart/dumb jokes, it was somehow lightning in a bottle. He created some many memorable moments in a short time and I wanted to capture one of his high points. A feel good piece to have around and smile at. Confidently negotiating for a plate of wings when the waitress was adamant the kitchen was closed. Not only nailing a wildly hilarious scene that started with lying about a giant bruise on his face and bookending it with a child-like phrase, it also showcased a learnable perspective to take away from. As a character, Tommy Boy showed us that we all have talents within us but without the help of close friends and family we may wander life aimless. While Farley is regarded mostly for his comedic prowess, his films also brought a lot of story.

I made this piece oversaturated to kind of blow out the orange and yellow hues to make this a very warm piece. The film itself was graded fairly flat, I like to live in a brighter space with my art. The warmth of a job well done and getting a warm plate of wings when all there was available was cold options. The background and suit done more abstractly to keep attention to the face, but keeping some colors and details from the original film composition.
