Pulp Fiction is one of those movies I didn't truly see until later in life. When I first saw parts of it on TV, I was so confused as to why Vincent did any of the things he did in the movie. Especially in his story with Mia. I was like dude, bosses wife. Maybe play it by the book, what're you doing? I felt like the gif/meme where's he holding his jacket and looking around. Then I watched it as an adult and I was like, ok. Not better but at least I understand this "dynamic"!

I wanted to do something fun while still capturing the red flags of the story. The bright, almost americana, background has a variety of splatters and colors but also red blood hints and murky white drug stains. More than anything I wanted to capture Uma Thurman's gaze from this film. It's haunting but not off-putting or over powering. It's like a curious confidence, and I think there's something really fun about this finished piece.
