There is something strange about time when you’re a child in the summer. The structure of the school year disappears and suddenly the days feel enormous. There is nowhere else you are supposed to be. You can move at the speed of your own curiosity, following whatever holds your attention for as long as it holds it.

Young and Free is rooted in the memory of that particular kind of freedom: long days spent near the water, watching clouds move across the sky, wandering without purpose and being completely inside the day you are already in.

The series explores a time when wonder was enough to determine where we went next, before so much of life became organized around schedules, productivity and the expectation that our time should always be accounted for.
