Based in Toronto, Canada, Alex creates vibrant, large abstract paintings. He explores visual art as a means of communicating ideas of subconscious perception and his work strives to push boundaries by challenging the viewer to interpret the work for themselves.
Drawing on his studies of Psychology, his process is governed by a continuous stream of consciousness over several sessions that begins with no goal in mind and continues until the work reveals itself. From that point he applies rules of Gestalt Psychology (the whole is greater than the sum of its parts) and shifting focus back and forth between macro and micro perception to refine the work until it is fully realized.
Alex has been creating visual art for over 20 years and has seen his practice grow in recent years. He has been steadily painting new works available for sale.
