This work is based on a fall hike near Smyth Lake, close to Algonquin Park, during a short stay at a Voyageur Quest cabin. Days were spent hiking and canoeing, with no urgency to capture anything specific. The painting reflects that pace: simplified forms, softened colour, and a landscape observed over time rather than in passing.
