Originally a photograph, generously granted by Ross Busswell for me to use as inspiration for this painting, is a surreal scene indeed. I love this "moodscape" in cool colors... The painting started with an under layer in neon violet, then lettering in ALOHA was added and painted over. As the viewer walks by, and as the light shines on the almost imperceptible height of the letters, "ALOHA" may or may not reveal itself to the viewer. It is a private dialog between viewer and painting.
