“Back Breaking” is a painting of two anonymous construction workers whose placement, action and color scheme serve as transition in the exhibition. Their unison sets the foundation of the narrative and leads the viewer across the painting. The figures are depicted with solid outlines that transition into an abstract field of shape and color via their hand-held implements.
