One night I went by this storefront in the Mission district. A light was on in the back portion, casting such an interesting light to the front darker section of this abandoned retail space. It left an indelible impression on me, which I soon painted. The floor of this space was painted blue, and when the light was cast on the floor, it looked almost like standing water to me. All like a rising tide of change.
