Bella Notte

Oil paint, oil stick on canvas.

66x68"

Belle Notte draws the viewer down a dreamlike threshold toward a glowing amber gate, set within a night world of deep indigo, teal, and violet. Slashes of orange and acid yellow break through the cool darkness, while loose, gestural brushwork turns railings, windows, and curving benches into rhythms of light and shadow. The painting feels both architectural and emotional, as if remembered rather than observed, and it holds the tension between invitation and mystery.
