Oil on canvas.

18x24"

This is my abstract painting of my favorite hiking trail, Cascade Trail, in the Blue Mountains. On this trail you hike up, and up, until you finally reach the top, where you feel as if you can touch the sky. Looking down everything is so small. A lighthouse looks like a speck. The towns are all laid out before you in grids, orderly and neat, but here, on Cascade Trail, you feel far away from civilization. Here at the top you can find, The Bruce Trail, where you can hike for days.

Hiking Cumberland Trail* By William A Poppen
Snap, crack, snap -- twigs break underneath
Each burst is music fed deep into her heart
Balmy air blows crisp across her cheek
A kiss as sweet as a daughter's caress
Pride inhaled with each labored breath
Seventeen miles of inclines and slopes
Over fallen trees and swollen creeks
Intentional steps, stitches of success sewn into
the blanket of her soul as she
wanders along the path of her
journey to renewal

This oil on gallery canvas is vibrant and sensuous with a medium textural appeal.

The sides have been carefully painted in a wrap around effect as I feel this finishes the work and makes it ready for immediate display. There is no need to frame unless it is your personal preference. This work will also come wired for your convenience. The painting is signed on the front and is signed and titled on the back.

The work will be safely shipped and will come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Thank you so much for visiting.
