CAUSE and EFFECT
I began this work soon after the murder of George Floyd. After that event, protests and marches commenced globally. I do not create blatantly political work, but rather I become introspective in what the world had witnessed. A charcoal grey and lavender become the stage for my contemplation, with splashes of white, mark making and a sparkle of color. Yet, I do not paint purely from emotion, although it may be imbued with emotion; form, content, and commitment to my work are essential.
