Mixed media on aluminum.

35x48x1"

"Come Gather Around" is a piece that explores the energy of presence—how people come together, how attention gathers, and how we experience being seen and seeing others. I wanted to capture that feeling of many perspectives converging at once, that strange tension between individuality and collective experience.
Working on aluminum gave me a solid, reflective base, something that could hold the intensity of color and texture I was aiming for. I used mixed media to build a composition full of eyes and face-like forms, but nothing is literal. The suggestion of faces is fragmented, as if everyone is there but never fully defined. I like that ambiguity—it reflects the way we often sense people more than we fully understand them.
The brightness of the colors was intentional. It invites viewers in. This gathering of forms is alive and vibrant, but also strange and uncertain. I see it as a reflection of human interaction: playful, complicated, watchful, and ultimately connected.
This piece isn’t meant to be read in one way. It’s about letting your eye wander and feel pulled in by different details, different “presences.”

Ready to hang.
