**DEREALIZATION**

*2010 · Acrylic on Canvas · 30 × 40 in.*

*Derealization* emerged from an experience of profound internal disorientation—the strange state in which the familiar world can feel dreamlike, distant, and unreal.

Two cheetahs stand side by side beneath a nocturnal sky, both looking back over their shoulders. Alert yet elusive, they appear almost ghostlike against a stark, ethereal palette of piercing blues, deep reds, and spectral whites.

The painting explores the liminal space between consciousness and illusion, where perception becomes uncertain and the unreal can carry its own powerful sense of truth.
