This painting commits to emotional erosion. The surface feels weathered, scarred, almost bruised, as if memory itself has been dragged across it. The vertical forms suggest cliffs, figures, or inner pillars, but they refuse to settle into a single identity, which is precisely their strength. The turquoise upper field offers a deceptive calm, a thin breath of air before the descent into bruised violets, rust reds, and wounded ochres below. The diagonal black line cuts through the composition like a fault line, or a decision that cannot be undone. What I've looked for to render is the tension between softness and abrasion: pale lavender gestures hover like fragile hopes, while the scraped textures below insist on gravity, weight, and consequence. The painting does not console. It observes. It remembers. It lets damage speak without apology.
