Finding the Light

This is a painting that I created during the Covid pandemic for my Isolation Series. I kept these paintings close to my home and heart but am now ready to release to them to the universe.

I would often write down my thoughts during the creating process. I often do not capitalize my sentences.

finding the light

i am on the inside of myself looking out
i am stillness

i go down deep
sinking under the layers of myself

i pull up a chair
and listen to the quiet
it surrounds me like a season

that significant
that subtle

i enter my soul
and I burn from the heat

i encounter the bloom of myself
and I color against the backdrop of the bland
i fall into the essence of the soul’s mystery

and i ressurect
i am alive
