“Friends and Strangers” began with a simple feeling—how people drift in and out of our lives, leaving behind traces that linger. Some stay, others don’t, but all leave something behind. This piece reflects on those fleeting moments that, though small at the time, quietly stay with us.

I chose stained glass and aluminum to explore that contrast—strength and fragility, permanence and change. The aluminum grounds the work, while the stained glass brings in shifting light and movement, echoing how human connections evolve over time.

By layering paint over aluminum, I created a tension between texture and transparency, reflecting what we reveal versus what we hold back. “Friends and Strangers” is about the beauty in the in-between spaces—the quiet moments where connection, distance, and change coexist.
