Full moon

Acrylic on professional wrapped canvas.

30x40"

In Full Moon, I imagined a quiet night transformed by the moon’s light. The bright moon rises behind dark, reaching branches, while the blue sky glows with scattered stars. Below, vivid reds and golds bring warmth to the scene, like autumn leaves catching the last light. The contrast between the cool sky and fiery foreground gives the painting its energy and sense of mystery.

I built the scene with layers of acrylic, developing the blue background before shaping the moon as a luminous focal point. I added the tree forms against the sky, letting their branching silhouettes frame the moon and guide the eye upward. Finally, I brought warmth into the foreground with bold red and golden strokes and added sparkling details across the night. For me, the painting holds a moment of stillness and wonder, when the full moon makes familiar trees feel magical.
