Inspired by the legendary 3 headed dragon of the same name, Ghidorah is a triptych piece exploring the dimensionality of black identity. The leftmost side showcasing the edgier, more bold sides, characterized by the unorthodox crown and jagged skull details. The middle showcasing our ancestral side; the side that all black folks innately have that allows us to spiritually connect to our roots and to each other. And finally, the rightmost side showing our delicate and soft side. The side of black existence that remains soft, calm and free flowing despite our post colonial history. This is definitely another favorite I will be displaying at this year’s show. Only two copies of this piece exist.
